My Bougie Wishlist

We all wish that we had more money. Sometimes we pretend that we have more money than we actually do and walk around expensive shops. Or online shop on Chanels website without actually hitting the “purchase” button.

Okay, maybe it’s just me but still.

We all wish we had a little more money to spend on ourselves. It’s okay to admit it. Every once and a while I compile a list of everything I want, go to the cheapest item, and then I try to figure out ways I could buy it. I’ve never been able to buy anything but it gives me hope. Maybe a false sense of hope but it’s still hope.

The other day I was strolling through Neimans on a casual Tuesday afternoon, as a broke college student does, when my jaw dropped. I hadn’t window shopped in so long. It was like a whole new world. I felt so out of touch. SO incase you are feeling out of touch as well.. let me show you the light!

Class Ring’s Your Classmates won’t Have

I love jewelry. I don’t always wear it, but I LOVE IT. But when it came to getting a class ring in high school I knew I wouldn’t wear it. I didn’t and don’t want to be reminded of high school everyday. Plus they looked weird on my hands and they were severely overpriced.

So I kept chugging along looking at rings. THEN COLLEGE. I started browsing last semester (I’m a junior right now) and I slowly started to fall in love with alternative class rings, the only issue was that they were so hard to find! I searched for so stinking long. But now my issue is trying to narrow it down… I don’t know what is more difficult, searching for rings I like or narrowing them down. Geez, can you imagine how long I’m going to take to pick out an engagement ring?

DAVID YURMAN

I was so hesitant to look at David Yurman rings. I personally think most of their jewelry is a little too bulky and not my style. BUT their newer collections are so gorgeous! I put the ring on my finger and I fell in love. I’m assuming it’s the same feeling someone gets when they choose a wedding dress. I don’t know for sure but it felt so right on my finger!

SARAH CHLOE

I love a good signet ring, they are gorgeous and timeless. Personally, I wouldn’t want my university’s logo (is it called a crest?) is on a ring (there are a few exceptions, you’ll see). But I’d love to treat myself to a cute signet ring for graduation. It’s like a nice pat on my back, you know? I deserve it.

SAN JOSE JEWELERS

Sooo this is my logo/crest thing exception (besides a&m rings… those things are so beautiful). San Jose Jewelers have an amazing collection. Their rings are modern and just gorgeous. They look so new and fresh! I have been talking to people who own one of their rings and I haven’t heard one complaint. Well, the only complaint I hear is that they didn’t customize. Not really, a complaint, complaint, but you get it!

SO, what are y’all’s thoughts? Let me know if you have any more suggestions.. Which one is your favorite? I need help!

A Periwinkle Paradise

I am not usually not big on wearing blue, but I have been loving periwinkle lately. I am in the process of moving right now so I don’t have a lot of extra money in my budget (I mean, what college student does). But I can look, right?

I’ve been scrolling through Instagram a little bit more lately (finals procrastination) and I have been seeing pops of this color everywhere! I mean, hello to Lady Gaga at the Golden Globes. Also, can we talk about the puffy shoulder trend? I haven’t tried it, but I can’t wait to!

Personally, I’d pair these with light neutrals. Whites and creams. Maybe a black shoe or bag.. BUT I just love how this color pops with white! Also, it looks good on all skin tones. This color is just gorgeous!

Friday Fav’s

Yah, I’m hopping on the trend. Well, actually it’s 11:30 pm and I just drank Dr. Pepper and I don’t want to study for Macro Econ. I’m a communication major okay?!

So while I’m on this caffeine high and can’t stop thinking, I might as well batch some blog posts. Might as well be kinda productive while I procrastinate. Am I right, or am I right?

1.Grape Seed Oil

Okay, this stuff is magic. I don’t have terrible skin, but we all have our days. I struggle with cystic acne and dryness every once and a while. I usually apply this one a week (I use to apply it every day… my skin was literally glowing) with my fingers before I put on creams at night. I wait 30 minutes to an hour for it to soak in and then I apply my night cream. It has worked wonders. It soothes, tightens and brightens. You can also use it to cook with, but I have never done that. I got windburn on the back of my hands last year (I didn’t even know that was a thing) around the same time a friend got windburn on her face. I applied the oil morning and night along with lotion and my hands healed within days, her face too two weeks to heal fully. I told you, it’s magic.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer

I used the Anastasia Brow Wiz for YEARS. When they came out with the Brow Definer, I literally laughed. The tip is huge, how could it make your brows look natural?! You’d be shocked. I just restocked and I am in love with this brow pencil. It is so easy to apply and it takes me half the time. If you are doubting this pencil, go into a Sephora and ask them to test it on you. You won’t regret it! Well, unless the person applying it sucks at doing eye brows, go to the girl with the best brows and ask her.

3. These Mom Jeans

I really didn’t think mom jeans would look good on me. I have a very awkward body and I typically have to wear skinny jeans. But these jeans are affordable (I use afterpay) and super cute on. I always get tons of complements on them. When I was working at Anthropologie people would stop me all the time and ask me where I got them, thinking they were from Anthro and I spent a good $200 on them. Jokes on them, I bought them for $80 (still more than I’d like to spend) at Urban Outfitters!

4. Superga Sneakers

I got these for myself as a birthday gift last year, and I am still obsessed with them. I throw them on with anything and everything. They aren’t the comfiest, but they are super cute. Mine are a little scuffed and dirty now, but I personally like shoes that are a little dirtied up. They are like cheaper and less comfy Golden Goose shoes with out the branding. Right?

5. My Favorite Cardigan

I bought this at Anthropologie and let me tell you, it is worth it. I got a discount because I was working there (I definitely would not have bit the bullet if I didn’t have a discount) and it was the best thing purchased there. I wear it all the time. It is heavy enough to get me through a cold morning, but light enough to get me through the day. It is so flattering on, this pic does not give it justice. I am actually considering getting it in different colors… I got mine in brown and grey (which is out of stock unfortunately, they don’t like to restock). But I am obsessed with all of the colors. It is so cute and classic. It’ll definitely carry to next year.

NYFW Street Styles I’ve been Swooning over

I am so jealous of everyone who has the opportunity to go to fashion week. Maybe one day, but until then… I’ll swoon from afar. I’ve been keeping up with bloggers stories and posts, googling everything I can. I have always been infatuated with the idea of NYFW.

I recently fell in love with NYC, and now I am obsessed with looking at apartments and different restaurants and clothes that I can’t afford. So, these street style looks have been goggling at these photos all stinkin’ week. I can dream, right?

2018 FAll FINDS

Fall finds.jpgI have been an obsessive over fall and winter clothing since I was in middle school. The only issue is that I am broke. Meaning, I had the off brand UGG boots and Burberry scarfs that people very quickly pulled apart and accused me of ‘ripping off’ brands. IT WAS GREAT. I LOVED MIDDLE SCHOOL.

But all of this means that I got really good at bargain hunting and budgeting very fast. Which is honestly a benefit for you.  I spend hour upon hour staring at a screen while my mom yells at me to clean my room (yes, I still live at home, its HELLFA cheap), and you get to google and click. YOU’RE WELCOME.

LAKE CADDO

Every year my best friend, Grace, and I go on a trip. We are college kids, so it isn’t a very extravagant one, but we know how to have fun (legal fun okay, mom). But this time we decided to invite our friend Journey along… and let me tell you, she is a journey.

This year we went to Lake Caddo, and let me just say…

It was great.

The first day we headed out at 10:30am (an hour and a half late but OH WELL, we needed to sleep). We stoped on the way at The American Cotton Museum. It was honestly pretty cool, but I had one issue. I am scared of mannequins… and they had TONS of them. It was extremely informational, and engaging… but I was so jumpy the entire time (LOL). #FirstWorldProblems …

Then, I’ll  be honest, I passed out in the car. It was a long night, and I needed a solid hour. SUE ME (please don’t). When I woke up we were nearly to our Air BnB. Now I’m going to be honest, the address routed us to the house across the street. I was so confused, so we awkwardly called them to ask about it.. that was such an awkward conversation. They seemed nice, but distracted.. when we left for dinner we saw them packing up their car, so I’m assuming they were packing and I distracted them (LOL sorry!). Still not sure if I checked in properly.. OH WELL! They seemed not to be their by the end of the night.

We decided to drive to Shreveport, Louisiana for dinner. We ended up at this place called Fin’s Seafood, and it was actually really good… Their staff was amazing too, we sat there talking to them for so long!

Then we slept, because that is what we do best (duh).

We woke up kinda bright and not so early, and ended up getting ready and going on a swamp boat tour (Captain Ron’s Swamp Boat Tour, if you haven’t been… you need to). If you happen to be in East Texas, you need to trek up to Caddo Lake and take this tour! I loved it.

We then went to a town called Jefferson, grabbed lunch and walked around a bit. It was fun, but not loads. Not a big shopping town unless you are an antique person, as in tea sets and doilies. Then we drove around to the Lake O’ Pines and basically drove around. A lady working in a shop in Jefferson told us, “It’s the best lake in the nation!!!” Honestly, not the truth, I loved Caddo Lake SOOOOO much more! It was more of a boating and water sport thing ((In my opinion, but I have never been boating so who really knows)).

After all of this, I was hungry so I forced Grace to stop at Chik Fil A. Of Course.

THEN… JUST WAIT FOR IT…

Journey got a tattoo.

From a guy named Redneck-Russ.

Insanity, right?!

So she gets the tattoo and we head back to the Air bnb and crashhhh. I mean, we crashed right after we stayed up a bit and chit chatted. Then, I made them wake up early and head back home.

All in all, it was an amazing trip. I would definitely go back! The lake was beautiful and the memories we made were amazing.
